PILF was organized in 1984 by students who were interested in promoting the placement of law students with public interest organizations. Since its inception, PILF has grown to become the second largest student-run organization on campus — and it continues to make great strides.

Last year, PILF moved its largest fundraiser — the Annual PILF Auction — off campus to the EMC Clubhouse at Fenway Stadium. There, the organization net record-breaking profits and was thus able to fund more internships than ever before. Today, PILF strives to accommodate the growing demand for public interest positions by bringing in additional funding through its Auction and by adding the Coffee Shop Talent Show to this year’s lineup of fundraiser events. With these new initiatives, the 2011-2012 Board is proud to uphold the PILF legacy.
